Job Description

Direct, manage and coordinate logistics, store, transportation and serving maintenance activities. Organize and ensure the effective maintenance and logistic depot functioning by being responsive to maintenance expectations regarding spare parts availability and goods delivery.

Qualifications / Skills

Minimum Requirements for Candidates

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in store and logistics operations 2 of which in a managerial position.
  • Formal training in inventory control and robust skills in warehousing and logistics operation
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Computer skills.
  • General knowledge of modern store and inventory practices.

Expectations for Ideal Candidates

  • Thorough knowledge of all types of materials and parts required for preventive and corrective maintenance of the vehicles, machinery and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develops methods and procedures for scheduling of goods and materials from suppliers to support Engineering department in achieving work demands and minimizing cost impacts to PTC.
  • Develops and maintain transportation system on domestic and international freight that ensures maintenance needs are met.
  • Manages and organize logistic flow in the depot (administrative and maintenance needs).
  • Conducts survey and evaluate process for improvements.
  • Implements improved processes and systems to reduce inventory and minimize costs.
  • Follows the budget allocated.
  • Contracts suppliers follow up.
  • Provides logistics and customs financial data to maintenance and finance departments.
  •  Plans the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organize special requirements for certain stock.
  • Oversees picking, packing and distribution and movement of items between PTC locations.
  • Overseeing stock control and processing orders.
  • Keeps stock control systems up to date and planning future capacity requirements.  Initiates all requests for replenishment of stock.
  • Review paperwork from deliveries to determine if additional work requirements will occur.
  • Checks documents for thoroughness and completeness and prepare additional documentation when necessary
  • Oversees the receipt and dispersal of materials entering or leaving warehouse
  • Takes periodic inventories and participate in monthly inventory program.
  • Brief staff on materials to be loaded or on assembly of items to be delivered.
  • Checks with warehouse staff for changes that could affect delivery schedule; make schedule adjustments as needed.
  • Ensures quality, delivery and budget objectives are met.
  • Produces regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensures the quality objectives follow-up (suppliers audit, etc…)
  • Contracts suppliers follow up.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Ensures the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.
