The Global Head of Product for a global payroll outsourcing and SaaS company leads product strategy, driving innovation and aligning offerings with customer needs and business goals. This senior leader oversees a globally distributed team, managing cross-functional initiatives, optimizing workflows, and ensuring alignment with company objectives. They play a key role in developing data-driven strategies, overseeing performance metrics, and integrating feedback loops to foster continuous improvement. Additionally, they champion technological advancements and market intelligence to maintain a competitive edge in global payroll SaaS solutions.

Qualifications / Skills

Minimum Requirements for Candidates

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, specializing in SaaS, payroll, or global payroll technology.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience with agile methodologies and product lifecycle management.
  • Technical expertise in SaaS platforms and web technologies.
  • Strong technical proficiency in APIs, modular architecture, platform scalability, and data integration strategies with systems such as HRIS, ERP, and WFM.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile product development, including backlog management, epic/story creation, sprint planning, and roadmap ownership.

  • Extensive knowledge of international payroll systems, global statutory compliance requirements, and localization frameworks, especially in multi-jurisdictional contexts.
  • Hands-on experience with statutory configuration modules, compliance automation, and payroll rule engines.
  • The ability to communicate well at all levels and build solid business relationships
  • Familiarity with data privacy and information security frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and data residency controls.
  • Proactive, communicative, organized, and well-spoken.
  • Prior success in building or scaling white-label SaaS products, reseller enablement models, and partner-centric platforms.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, SAFe® Product Manager/Product Owner (PM/PO), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or Pragmatic Institute PMC certification.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy and Vision: Develop and execute a clear product vision and roadmap for global payroll SaaS solutions, emphasizing innovation and automation.
  • Leverage AI and machine learning to improve product development processes, customer support, and overall user experience.
  • Define a product strategy with unique selling points (USPs) to support go-to-market and partnership strategies, including multi-channel approaches such as white-labeling.
  • Drive end-to-end automation of global payroll processes using advanced technologies (AI, RPA, machine learning).
  • Ensure that all product features are fully documented and customers have access to comprehensive support resources.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering department to ensure epics and user stories are clear, detailed, and high quality.
  • Ensure engineering resources are used efficiently by providing well-defined requirements, reducing rework due to unclear or changing specifications.
  • Performance Measurement and Efficiency: Develop SLAs and KPIs to measure the efficiency of the product team.
  • Actively monitor SLAs and KPIs to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that product releases are clearly communicated to customers with details of new features and improvements.
  • Establish processes to prevent service interruptions or code breaks during releases.
  • Engage with clients through the Customer Advisory Board to gather feedback and align product development with user needs.
  • Manage the product backlog and ensure clear prioritization aligned with strategic goals.
  • Develop a quality management framework with rigorous testing processes to reduce bugs and maintain high standards.
  • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements, integrating relevant innovations into the product roadmap.
